HARBOUR: Taking Inventory
A guest workshop designed and facilitated by Third Space artist in residence, KC Wilcox.
Taking Inventory is a workshop for artists, writers and thinkers to develop new directions in their own generative process. During this workshop, participants will explore their relationship to objects in the setting of natural space. Over the course of one afternoon, participants will investigate Tin Can Beach through a short series of immersive experiences that will engage their sense of observation and response. Participants will work alongside one another to curate a unique inventory that speaks to their understanding of material and natural worlds. This practice will set the framework for a discussion on confounding boundaries between the two. Participants will have the opportunity to explore in both visual and verbal language what objects represent (in terms of lived experience / as necessities for survival / in excess / as cultural icons) and how they fit into the spaces we share with non-human life.
